Not only have I been a Realtor in three states, I’m also an interior designer, Army wife, and a Macon County native. I know the area well, but I also bring experience and ideas from other competitive real estate markets. As an interior designer, I know how to make a home look its best! And as an Army wife who has been a homeowner in several states, I know the stress of buying and selling a home, especially when relocating to a new community. I have loved houses from a young age and was drawing designs and floorplans as early as elementary school. After graduating from Meridian, I went on to receive my bachelors in Interior Design from Maryville University in Saint Louis. After working as a design consultant in both Indianapolis and Peoria, I married my college sweetheart and moved to Louisiana where he was stationed with the Army. This is where I began my Real Estate Career in 2012 and opened my first business where I combined my passion for interior design and real estate together into home staging; Home staging is the art of making a home appealing to the most buyers therefore selling it faster and for a higher profit. It was a success and a service I will continue to offer here in Macon County! After the Army relocated us to Texas, I opened my next company which focused on real estate investing and I had the honor to work with some of the top investors in Austin and Dallas, Texas. After the Army relocated us to Alabama, I decided to add another layer of knowledge to my real estate toolbox and worked for a home builder. I sold and helped design over 100 homes (20 million in sales) in 2 years and was recognized as one of the top Realtors in the surrounding area. Now that my husband has transitioned to working full-time for the Illinois National Guard, we can finally lay down permanent roots in our hometown. Although I enjoy working with all homebuyers, I would love to be known as the “Joanna Gaines” of Decatur and help my buyers see a Fixer Upper for its full potential.
