The desirable neighborhood of South Shores, Decatur is found south of West South Side Drive and east of Route 48. Although one of the smaller districts in the city, South Shores is made up of primarily residential areas and green spaces, and its location on Lake Decatur allows for some exclusive waterfront properties. This neighborhood is also home to two golf courses, Red Tail Run Golf Course and South Side Country Club, as well as parks, schools, and some commercial areas in the north.
