Carla Brinkoetter

Thank you for visiting the Brinkoetter & Assoc. website. I do hope you find it informative and helpful. I became President of the Company in 1991. In 1992 my Father retired and sold me the Company. It has been an interesting adventure and it continues to be. Our company continues to grow and we currently have over 61 full time agents. We are blessed to enjoy a 51% market share. It is my belief our success is due to our dedication to providing quality service and our willingness to invest in the tools that meet today's home buyer's and seller's needs. While our company celebrates 50 years in business in 2015 we continue to stay on the cutting edge of what is new and pertinent to the real estate industry. I am a Decatur native and over the years have become quite involved with the community. I have served as the Chair of the Metro Decatur Chamber of Commerce, President of the Decatur Club, President of Junior Achievement, Chair of United Cerebral Palsy of Central Ill., Commissioner of the City of Decatur Planning Commission, Graduate of the Decatur Leadership Institute, City Council and the list goes on. I have been fortunate to have been chosen as the recipient of the Athena Award, Woman of Excellence Award, Outstanding DLI Award, Top 50 Business Leaders of Decatur, Realtor of the Year, and Brinkoetter & Assoc. was selected as the Outstanding Small Business of 1998. While the real estate business is a large part of my life, I do have a wonderful family that includes my husband, Terry, and two sons. Adam, who is out of the Active Army and now working for Monsanto in St. Louis, MO,; Adam is married (Cindy) and has two stepsons and a daughter, Emily. My youngest son, James, is a graduate of the Western Culinary Inst. and part owner of Funky's Catering in Cincinnati, OH. James and his wife, Kayla, have two sons, Emmit and Abram. Terry worked with me running the company until Christmas Eve of 2011 when he suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm. After several months in the hospital and intense therapy we decided it was time for him to retire. His continued support and the love we have for each other sustain me on a daily basis. I am proud to call Decatur my hometown. One of the things I enjoy most is providing tours of our community to newcomers. It is fulfilling to show Decatur in a light that allows people to see beyond the obvious.
