Casey’s will build on Route 51

The Village of Forsyth is excited to welcome Casey’s General Store to town. The company has been issued a building permit to construct a fuel station and convenience store at 111 E. Cox St. in Forsyth. The location is just across from Menards at the corner of Route 51 and Cox Street.
“Casey’s General Store is an especially exciting addition to Forsyth for a couple of reasons,” Andrew Zupkoff, the Village’s community and economic development coordinator, said. “Firstly, a recent retail gap analysis performed in Forsyth shows our marketplace has ample room to support an additional gas station/convenience store.
“We are very happy Casey’s General Store has stepped up to fill that need in our community.”
Zupkoff said the new Casey’s will join Menards in giving the Village “another great, nationally known brand north of Weaver Road on our Route 51 corridor.”
Zupkoff said that as the Village continues to work with developers and form the new tax increment financing district, the Route 51 corridor is very important.
“That it is an area we see as prime for additional retail expansion in the coming years,” he said. “Having another great store located in that area should increase traffic counts in that vicinity and make it easier to attract additional businesses.”
Casey’s General Store has yet to announce an opening date.
