About Sparky

Growing up on the farm instilled a strong work ethic in me from an early age. Driving the tractor, preparing the fields for planting from the age of 8, walking beans  and bailing hay even younger. At 12, when my father retired from farming, the family moved to Decatur. My youngest loves were math, science and football. Soon after, I discovered my love for architecture at vocational school, my love of music at college and my desire to prepare food from the satisfied smiles of those I cooked for. I attended Eisenhower High School, Richland Community College and the University of Illinois.

Adult life began with what I thought to be a career path in engineering, first with mechanical and structural revisions at Firestone. Later, during construction I was involved as a Quality Engineer at the Clinton Power Station until it reached peak production, and then later I found myself designing feeding complexes for poultry in the U.S. and Mexico.

Upon his return from WW 2, my grandfather opened a realty company in Decatur in 1946. At my fathers retirement from farming he then became a Realtor® in Decatur. I began my Real Estate Career in 1991. My reason was to spend more time with my family, the local community and I do believe homes are good investments.

Organizations I have participated with are Decatur Macon County Senior Center, Habitat for Humanity, Decatur Bears semi pro football, South Shores Boys Baseball, Shemamo Girl Scouts, Relay for Life, Summerstart, Decatur Celebration, PTA Decatur Public Schools, Decatur Park District, The Grand Palace Banquet Hall, Street Dogs Missions. I have served on numerous boards and committees and am a Past President and 2013 Realtor of The Year Award recipient at the Decatur Association of Realtors.

Over the past 27 years I have enjoyed serving the residents of the Macon county area with professional personal care for all of their real estate needs. I would like to thank all of my past clients and welcome all the new ones to my next endeavor. Feel free to contact me with your questions, I look forward to hearing from you.
